The Forgotten Victims
RESCUING SLAUGHTER-BOUND CALVES IN COLOMBIA
In Colombia’s cattle industry, many calves are born at the very moment their mothers arrive at slaughterhouses — instantly orphaned and treated as disposable. With no economic value to the system, these vulnerable baby cows and bulls are often abandoned, killed, or left to die.
At Namigni Animal Sanctuary, we rescue slaughter-bound calves and provide them with safety, nourishment, veterinary care, and lifelong protection. Through this work, we seek to expose a hidden reality affecting countless animals across Colombia’s livestock industry.
Building Compassionate Alternatives
GIVING ORPHANED CALVES A SECOND CHANCE AT LIFE
Every rescued calf at Namigni Animal Sanctuary has their own story of survival. Many arrive frightened, weak, dehydrated, or separated from their mothers shortly after birth. At our sanctuary, these animals are given the opportunity to recover, grow, and experience life free from exploitation.
Our mission goes beyond rescue alone. We also work to raise awareness about the “forgotten sons” of the cattle industry while promoting more compassionate and responsible conversations around animal rights, farming practices, and the treatment of vulnerable livestock animals.
